Father Figuer

I’ve been procrastinating on writing this post, but about half a month has passed since I shot these photos so, here I am to share them.

Father Figuer’s December 30th show at Radio Bean was a “farewell” of sorts to a band that’s rightfully built an impressive following around Burlington in their 4 years.

I’ll admit I didn’t see them play half as much as I wanted to while they’ve been living here, but I did have the pleasure of seeing some of their first shows as a Burlington band (and some of their last with that qualifier as well). Beyond being great musicians producing great music, they have stood out as wonderful people who have been incredibly supportive of a sometimes dysfunctional music scene. They’ll be greatly missed in these parts!

Supporting this farewell show we had an all-star cast of amazing Burlington bands, starting off with No Fun Haus

They were followed up by the incredible Suspect Behavior who I was pleased to catch for the first time

As the night progressed, the Radio Bean space was filling more and more. I think by this point there was a long line of folks willing to get into the show, only aided by the occasional patron heading out who had been there for a show earlier in the evening.

Suspect Behavior was quickly followed up by Will Keeper and their band

Remi Russin and their band took the stage with guest Tom Pearo

Remi is a co-conspirator of mine on DIY Burlington but I hadn’t gotten the chance to see them perform live before – I could have guessed by the live videos and recorded music I’d heard, but they and their whole band were incredible

Lake Waves performed next and, like usual, put on an incredible show

After what felt like no time at all, Father Figuer was taking the stage in front of a completely sold out room

they held the audience captive with heartfelt messages about their time being based in Burlington, and their always powerful music
